Hello Smashing golfers. I am so pleased to announce that through the sale of the book and our events last year we are able to fund 4 girls in Wellington County for the Smashing Girls program and 6 girls for the program in the Hamilton/ Burlington area.
Mentor spots for Hamilton/ Burlington have been filled. I am seeking 4 women to be golf mentors for the Wellington program. Please note, mentors do not need to be great golfers by any means, just positive and encouraging and ready to make a difference in the life of a teenage girl.
The girls have been identified by Big Brothers Big Sisters and all mentors will be screened by BBBS.
Your commitment as a mentor:
- Accompany the girls during their lessons at Victoria Park Valley golf course( not all mentors required for all lessons as long as one is present each week – Sat 2-3pm for five weeks beginning May 12)
- Play 2 nine hole rounds of golf ) June 18 and 25 at 5pm at Vic Park Valley ( girls green fees will be free, you will be responsible only for your green fees $25) – note: you may need to drive your mentee for this.
- Enter you and your mentee into one golf event in the summer ( Smashing Nine’s Guelph is in August)
