SMASHING GIRLS GOLF PROGRAM

Golf, mentors and confidence for girls who don’t have access to the game

Smashing Girls pairs teens and young adults with women from the Smashing community. They learn golf, build confidence and get a first look at careers and life from women who’ve been there.

WHY IT MATTERS

Most girls in this program had never held a golf club.

Smashing Girls changes that. Girls are referred by community partners and play for free, with a woman from the Smashing program by their side.

THE PROGRAM

A season of growth

Each girl gets four professional golf lessons, plays two rounds of nine holes with her mentor, and joins a Smashing Nines event in the summer. Along the way she learns that a missed shot doesn’t define her, and builds the confidence, people skills and goal-setting she can take back to school and life.

BECOME A MENTOR

You don’t need to be a great golfer. You need to show up.

Mentoring is as rewarding for you as it is for her. Mentors tell me they get as much out of it as the girls do. Share your time and your experience, model sportsmanship and resilience, and help a girl get comfortable with adults and with challenges.
