Your Guide to Women’s Golf Leagues

with No Comments

Looking to up the ante and make a weekly commitment to golf this summer?  You may want to consider joining a Business Women’s Golf League. Joining a summer league can provide a good way to develop your golf skills, while offering a great networking opportunity.  And more often than not… they can be pretty fun!

There are many area courses that run Weekly Nine and Dine Events and Business Women’s Golf Nights throughout the summer.  Deciding on which Women’s League to join may start with proximity of course and convenience of the day of the week, but make sure to find out a little more about the league before you make a big commitment.

You will want to understand the way the event is run to increase the chances of finding a league that is a good fit.

  • Determine how the league works.  Do women usually play nine holes or 18.  Most “Ladies Nights” are only 9 holes, but you will want to confirm.
  • Find out how the groupings work. Do you choose who you play with, or is it a random grouping every week?
  • How competitive are the golfers? Are you expected to submit your scores?
  • Is there a clinic and a learning opportunity – or is it just nine holes of golf?
  • Is dinner / wine involved weekly? Is there an expectation to wine and dine after the event or does everyone cut out after their round?
  • Find out the overall demographic? Are 80% of the women retired … or are 80% millennials?

Still not sure what you might be committing to?  You can always ask if a trial run is possible before you commit to an entire season.
