Oakville Smashing Nines

When the idea of Smashing the Grass Ceiling came to light, the intention was to write a book to help educate professional women on how to use golf as a relationship building tool. The program also needed a practical application and a way for women to practise the strategies and techniques. Hence the creation of Smashing Nines - women's only 9 hole golf events - play golf, meet new people, have fun, don't keep score and learn a few things on the golf course. First event was at Dundas Valley, second was at Cutten Fields and on  Monday Sept 18th was the third of the Smashing Nines event at Piper's Heath golf course in Oakville, and what a great day we had. Seriously, it was simply amazing. The sun was shining and 85 professional women came together to make new connections and take the risk by putting themselves out there. While a lot of them may have been a little nervous at the beginning of the day, by the time we ended at lunch there was nothing by smiles and gratitude.

So many women came up to me later and told me that they always decline golf events with clients or colleagues because they aren't good enough at golf, or their spouses tell them they are not good enough to play! Well, now they know they can do it! Come out to more Smashing Nines events, connect with other women and use the strategies in the book to help you use golf to make meaningful connections. You don't have to be good at the game, you just need to be able to know how to manage your emotions and understand the etiquette. Isn't that the truth with a lot of hard situations in life?! Thank you to all that came out and to our incredible sponsors without whom we would not be able to function and put on an event that is so seamless and has such great prizes and giveaways. When we all come together, magic happens and a little bit of magic happened at Smashing Nines yesterday. Thank you for being a part of it.
